Unauthorized Autobiography of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange

Unauthorized Autobiography of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange

The small Scottish publisher Canongate brings, according to the
Independent an unauthorized autobiography of Wikileaks founder Julian
Assange in the British book trade. Assange had spoken out against the
publication of the material, but not paid by Canongate advance of at
least 500,000 British pounds repaid. Parallel to the publication of the
book Independent published excerpts from the book.

With a circumference of 244 pages "Julian Assange: The Unauthorized
Autobiography" will be shorter than announced in February 2011. Assange
then spoke from the fact that his book would be a "document of our
generation", which was joined by Wikileaks in the fight against the lie.
For the book, whose rights, according to the Canongate have been sold in
40 countries, was interviewed for 50 hours Assange by Scottish writer
Andrew O'Hagan. The condensation of these records fell at the end of the
opinion Assange far too personally. On 7 June Assange informed,
according to the Independent that he wants to take from the publication
of his autobiography distance. In a communication cites the publisher
Assange the doubt after reading the first book version came on the
project: "All memory is prostitution."

The interviewer Andrew O'Hagan is said to have distanced himself from
the book that was printed under the greatest secrecy. The publisher
apparently feared that Assange could stop the sale of his lawyers. This
is not done yet. The book is currently available only in Britain,
including the eBook can be purchased only from buyers whose credit cards
are registered in the United Kingdom. The U.S. publisher button, which
had bought the book rights directly against Assange will not publish the
book in this version in the U.S.. By contrast, the Australian publisher
says Wikileaks book on 6 October to bring into the trade. In Germany has
Kiepenheuer & Witsch the book rights, but has not yet ruled on the
edition of the Canongate.

Assange myself conveyed selected media a statement in advance for book
publication. The book had not been checked out by him on facts. He had
wanted to modify the book change dramatically and to respect the privacy
of people who are mentioned in the book.

The proceeds from the book are the involvement of the advance paid for
the defense thought Assange, who is currently on appeal against an
extradition request for the military. In Sweden is an investigation, to
testify in the Assange in two cases of sexual assault. Before the
scheduled examination date Assange had left the country. In the book
version of his first Assange to spread the Swedish experiences, they
stressed on the Canongate. Excerpts from the first chapter, which
publishes The Independent, act on the reader like a slightly shortened
version of the book Underground, which has released Julian Assange
Suelette with Dreyfus about his hacking youth in 1997.
