Motorola acquisition: Acer manager warns Google

Acer's new Europe head sees Google's acquisition of Motorola critical. Walter Deppeler warns the internet giant in an interview with the magazine Capital, about to prefer Motorola - and while Windows praised as an alternative to Android. The manager is different from that of Acer's previous line and is expressed more critical than other Google partners.

Image: Acer Asked whether Acer would break the link to Google in the case of a preference for Motorola, Deppeler said: "We have to wait and see if the deal turns out not as a gift to Microsoft." Windows have over Android "in terms of security, stability and application software some merit." Acer currently equips the majority of his tablets and smartphones running Android, but also models with Windows and soon also in the program with Windows Mobile 7.

Previously had Acer and other Google partners like Samsung, LG, HTC and Motorola praised the purchase always. "We agree with Google's strategy," said Deppe Jewellers manager, Acer CEO JT Wang. At the IFA said Deppe Travelers predecessor Stefan Engel told Reuters that the placement of influencing the software plans of Acer.

Google has so far not revealed how Motorola will be involved after completion of the acquisition in the Android strategy. It is possible that Google so far as the rotation principle, different hardware manufacturer supplies ahead of the competition with updates. It is also conceivable that Motorola may be constant in future work more closely with Google - and thereby gained a competitive advantage over Samsung, HTC, Acer and Co.. Samsung rumored to launch may be the first with the next version of Android.
