Red Hat boosts revenue and profit

The US-based Linux distributor Red Hat has increased its sales last
quarter versus the same period last year by 28 percent to 281 million
U.S. dollars (208 million €). The net profit grew loud message from 23.7
million to nearly 40 million U.S. dollars.


Sales and earnings over the past five quarters. 238 million U.S. dollars
compared to 186 million a year ago accounted for subscriptions, 43
million to over 33 million services. Jim Whitehurst reiterated the
figures given in the spring, expressed confidence , Red Hat can now be
at the end of the half-completed fiscal year, the first open-source
software provider, which converts 1 billion U.S. dollars a year.

Instead of the estimated 1.07 billion to 1.09 billion U.S. dollars is
now Red Hat from a turnover of 1.12 billion to 1.13 billion U.S. dollars
this year. The expectation screwed the company up to $ 1 per share to
1.05 dollars. It thanked the investors with a boost of nearly 5 percent
after-hours for the Red Hat share.
