Twitter turns into U.S. election campaign

Twitter turns into U.S. election campaign

The U.S. presidential election campaign, has always been an advertising
battle in the last elections in 2008, according to estimates of the
electoral authority flowed 1.8 billion U.S. dollars. Even in the
primaries, in which the Republican Party is looking for a challenger to
President Barack Obama, tens of millions of advertising dollars are in
play. The short message service Twitter would not want to protrude outwards.

As the U.S. magazine Politico reported on Wednesday, the company has
recruited an expert on political ads by Google and can already attract
some advertisers out of politics. Below that is the Republican candidate
Mitt Romney , one of the already paid tweet was displayed on search
results pages ("We can not afford four more years of failed leadership
obamaisntworking.com . RT & share is you agree "). Political Werbetweets
are separately marked and provided with a disclaimer of the U.S.
election authority.

Brian Adam, on Twitter primarily responsible for revenue models,
emphasizes the value of ads to users: "We have observed over the past
five years, exactly how Twitter is being used, we know that our
customers will love the message of these politicians.." Unlike Twitter,
it now makes as a test for normal ads, political ads are not shown
directly in the timelines of Twitter users who have no direct
relationship with the politicians. The "promoted tweets" appear only
highlighted on the profile page of the politician and Find (reserved)
keywords. There is also the possibility of a place in the Trending
Topics to buy or to recommend their own Twitter account prominently.

Twitter is playing in the U.S. policy is already a significant role.
Barack Obama used the service extensively during his election campaign
in 2008 and held in July 2011, a live chat on account of the white
house. His challenger for the elections in November 2012 are active on
Twitter.
