Texas Instruments Completes Acquisition of National Semiconductor

The U.S. chip maker Texas Instruments (TI) has completed the acquisition
of former competitor National Semiconductor. The new acquisition will be
integrated into the analog business unit, TI announced.

TI wants to own the information manufacturing facilities from National
Semiconductor in the U.S. state of Maine, in Scotland and in Malaysia
and also the company headquarters in Santa Clara continued to operate.
The company gets to 5000 employees and 12,000 products to its
comprehensive range of 30,000 products to date.

The takeover, the TI cost 6.5 billion U.S. dollars, was announced in
early April this year. In the meantime, the shareholders of National
Semiconductor and the supervisory authorities have agreed.
