Mac Trojan masquerades as PDF

Mac Trojan masquerades as PDF

Malware hidden in PDF files and exploits loopholes in the panel manager
is often the case. The virus researchers at F-Secure is now a file went
into the net that looks like a PDF, but uses a completely different
mechanism of infection. In fact, there is a Mac OS X program that
includes in its resources but a PDF file. This will open the PDF viewer
of your Mac, while in the background the actual backdoor software
downloads. For the computer user actually happens when you double the
putative PDF file exactly what he expected, so he is not likely to
become suspicious.

According to the F-Secure researchers are now to a preliminary study.
Because the installed Trojans indeed a backdoor software on the Mac. But
the command server is not yet in operation as such. He also drives still
do not disguise the top: So far, neither he disguises himself with a PDF
file icon still an appropriate name, but both would be the view of
F-Secure no problem.
