Successful Multi-Vendor Test for Shortest Path Bridging

Successful Multi-Vendor Test for Shortest Path Bridging

With a large multi-vendor test Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Huawei, Solana
Networks, Spirent Communications, the interoperability of their
equipment when using Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) have analyzed. SPB is
a technology specified in IEEE 802.1aq, which simplifies the connection
and the configuration in large networks and for the cloud by the edges
of the respective networks, certain services available. It comes as the
protocol for the automated, dynamic structure of the topology between
nodes defined carrier-grade link-state protocol, IS-IS (Intermediate
System to Intermediate System) are used. Network Administrators save
time and effort, human errors are minimized.

For the interoperability test simulated a large manufacturer of various
switches ten network environment that consisted of nearly 200 knots and
involved more than 400 links. Particular attention was to test the
control plane (control plane) between the different devices, the native
network discovery in a multi-vendor interoperability at the network as
well as Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks (L2VPN). Here, the tester moved
among other virtual machines over the network.
