Future Security: Walk-through scenarios for the body scanner
This raises the IATA "Checkpoint of the Future".

IATA After the provisional end for body scanners at German airports and
the EU's decision that nude scanner images do not violate human
dignity, discussed the use of terahertz technology (THz) for the
fiercely Future Security in Berlin. The
German family wants Rohde & Schwarz is here with L-3 Communications
record, the ninth largest defense contractor in the world. The aim is to find a solution as close to the lies propagated by the IATA "Checkpoint of the Future". Here,
the passenger walks through a hallway along with hand luggage, in which
all sorts of sensors to test whether he is an honest person.
Amidst the many scientific presentations of the Future Security of corporate sales presentations are real rare. Even
Martin Borrett IBM remained at his back peppered with buzzwords Keynote
for cybersecurity and praised the work of 18 short-security centers at
IBM, the cyber-incidents in 133 countries observe and analyze. A
proper sales pitch delivered from Andreas Strecker of Cassidian, which
the security radar system introduced SPEX, which is primarily aimed at
locating and identifying small UAVs (UAVs) optimized.
A
curious blend of sales pitch and presentation on airport security,
Christian Evers presented by the company Rohde & Schwarz. Because
the product, a walk-through system for hand luggage and passengers
alike, should be ready for evaluation by Evers in only 8 to 10 years. Traverse
to the PAXe casually strolling one passage in which they are examined
from a variety of sensors to detect explosives, weapons and dangerous
liquids down, you go back to Rohde & Schwarz on two developments
that are later to the walk-through are used. On
the one hand you want to use a passive detection system (PDF file),
which is developed by IPHT Jena, on the other hand scanner of the Qpass
LHFT Erlangen, which is being developed under the project TeraTom (PDF
file).
The Qpass system discovers a gun - at least according to the ideas of the developers.

Detlef Borchers H / online Qpass is a 2 meter high fence of 3000 THz
transmitters and receivers 3000, which are arranged in 32 clusters, in
order to scan a body. Rohde & Schwarz will use two scanners Qpass as double panel, scan the front and rear of each passenger or in the side view. In
this way, the investigation to be completed in 9 seconds, which
approaches the 5 seconds needed for the passing through of conventional
metal detectors.
Whether
all the assumptions and comparison with the competition from Rohde
& Schwarz are more show than a "Concept of Operations", the future. However,
it became clear that the body has to stop the scanner field tests in
Hamburg started the discussion about the application of THz technology
just beginning. Further talks on the security researcher showed that the possibilities in the THz-wave range have not yet been exhausted. Can
help the THz-spectroscopy for the detection of hazardous liquids, and
there are attempts to produce analogous to sensors in CCD cameras THz
sensors in arrays, which in turn can lead to a handy THz scanners for
mobile security.
