Adobe fixes 14 vulnerabilities in Reader and Acrobat

Adobe fixes 14 vulnerabilities in Reader and Acrobat

The manufacturer has released new versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat to close several critical security vulnerabilities. Each affects the versions 10.x, 9.x and 8.x for Windows, Linux and Mac.Adobe recommends the 10.1.1 update for Acrobat Reader X and X to install, this version offers Windows by their sandbox added protection. In addition, however, are also available for Adobe Reader 9.4.6 and Acrobat 8.3.1 and 9.4.6 and 8.3.1 available for download. Adobe Reader 9.4.6 for UNIX, however, is not until 7November appear.

In version 10.x as Adobe announced the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) has updated to remove all DigiNotar certificates. The versions 9.x support yet no dynamic updates to the AATL, this should only follow in later versions. Until then, users should manually delete the certificates. For instructions, the manufacturer has published on its pages.

At the last update for an Adobe product, there was criticism from security experts, the manufacturers would obscure the true number of closed gaps. Adobe Sun had given an update for the Flash player only 13 holes. Google security specialist who works for Tavis Ormandy, however, pointed out that there were more than 400.
