Web server logs to visualize as a game

Web server logs to visualize as a game

Dozens of resources generated from the log data of Web servers, tables and charts. Logstalgia with the Web server on the other hand plays a game of Pong against the requesting browser, search engines and bots. The generated motion pictures certainly do not achieve the precision and clarity of conventional analysis. But they throw an unusual look at the work of a Web server that is good about making presentations. For the playful visualization should just lay network to help you understand.

Whether the server plays back the balls as shown for client requests depends on the recorded HTTP status code. Client Error (4xx) run past the bat, successful operations (2xx) plays the server to the left, back to the client side, on the stand, the IP addresses. If a ball on the racquet, that has a flashing signal logstalgia. Behind the bat on the right side lists logstalgia the requested file and image paths. If you move your mouse over a ball, the software displays details on request. Use the spacebar to pause the visualization. Other program puts you to switch on the command line: About the background color, display various details and the font size. Logstalgia grouped URLs using regular expressions and exports the current game in single images that can be glued together into one movie.

The open source software is available as a finished program for Windows command line options available, many Linux distributions also hold stock in their repositories. Logstalgia however, requires OpenGL and a 3D-capable graphics card. The program retrieves the log data from a file or from standard input, what the developers recommend only for the Linux version.
