Electronic waste: MEPs insist on recycling rate

When it comes to the Environment Committee, the EU Parliament will
insist on its demand that collect 85 percent of the yearly running of
the electrical equipment. On Tuesday the committee is already in the
first reading of Parliament has reaffirmed decision to aim. In contrast,
the proposal of the EU Commission is seeking to recast the electronic
waste directive a collection rate of 65 percent of units sold annually.

Ministers of the two rates had been opposed to the first reading. The
feds want to reuse the initial 45 percent annually marketed devices.
Four years after entry into force of the directive are to be achieved 65
percent. In addition, the Council wants to exclude from the eight
countries with low entry value - there are only the opinion of the
minister used a few electrical devices. Therefore it rich, when the
States reached by 2016, a quota of 40 percent to 45 percent.

The European Parliament will vote on the existing plans in January 2012,
the second reading of the directive. An agreement between the three
parties is not yet apparent. The currently applicable regulations
provide that is collected in each EU country electronic 4 kg per
inhabitant per year.
