Microsoft achieved success before the Supreme Court against middlemen

Microsoft has prevailed before the Federal Court against an intermediary
who deals in used computers. He needs to pay future royalties, if he
used Microsoft programs airs on computer. The chief judge confirmed that
on Thursday in Karlsruhe, the decision of the lower court (Case No.: I
ZR 6 / 10).

The computer store was bought by companies both old computer and the
backup CDs with programs from Microsoft. These Recovery CDs are tied to
a computer that also has the Certificate of Authenticity is attached.
The dealer replaced the certificates and combined the software with
other computers, which he then sold. Thus he violated the trademark
rights in the opinion of Microsoft. With the transfer of the certificate
he had pretended that Microsoft had approved the connection between the
computer and software and will be adopted by the warranty. However, this
was not the case.
