RIM: We're continuing Tablets

The Playbook is only with a Blackberry smartphone fully operational. The
Blackberry maker RIM has told the Reuters news agency denied rumors that
the Tablet Playbook will not be sold. The company will continue to
engage in the tablet market and invest in the future of the playbook
used on the QNX operating system.

RIM responded with a denial on a forecast of the financial counseling
agency Collin Stewart, whose analysts had suggested publicly that RIM
has stopped production of the playbooks and develop no further Tablets will.

Earlier this week, some providers in the U.S., the prices of the
playbooks until reduced to about $ 200, as sales fell short of
expectations. In Germany, the unit costs from € 400 upwards. RIM has so
far delivered 700 000 playbooks, but sold only 200,000.

The largest criticism of the playbook was the small selection of
available apps that RIM would make up for the fact that support for
Android applications will be replenished. Recently, the manufacturer but
made a withdrawal and announced that the playbook is very limited to the
Android-compatible programs. In addition, be used only in combination
with a BlackBerry smartphone functionality of the tablet.
