Oracle NoSQL glued label on BerkeleyDB
If all "NoSQL" call, do not miss Oracle. Consequently, the Group now set to open its World Conference in San Francisco a "NoSQL database" before, processing the key-value pairs. An adapter is to provide the records for the free Hadoop Map-Reduce-evaluations. As an interface to the database there is a Java API.
In essence, it seems that the new product to the existing long-standing BerkeleyDB act. So it says in the datasheet, the NoSQL Database build on its storage engine, and "adds a service layer for use in distributed environments." Oracle had acquired the manufacturer of BerkeleyDB five years ago.
This "service layer" is apparently ready replication technology with one master and many slaves, which will make the database highly available. An automatic fail-over process which precipitates replaced by slaves operational. According to release the data to be automatically distributed to a specified number of partitions to speed up access.
Unlike other distributed NoSQL products, users can freely define their requirements according to White Paper on the consistency of the data: As required the system to deliver either a read request with the current value, or any security that may be outdated.
According to Oracle's website it should give the NoSQL database in two variants. The fee-based Enterprise Edition is now available for download, there is a community edition for free from mid-October to give. Whether the products will differ in their scope of services is not yet known.
