The U.S. music-streaming service Rhapsody takes on the majority of the
competitors Napster. The electronics retailer Best Buy, which had bought
the music service three years ago for 121 million U.S. dollars, retains
a minority stake, according to statement. The deal is expected to be
completed by the end of November. How much money will flow here was not
disclosed.
Rhapsody in July had about 800,000 subscribers who have access to at
least $ 10 a month to over 12 million songs. Market observers estimate
the number of Napster subscribers to 400,000 to 500,000.
